Mindfulness is paying attention to what's happening in the present moment with kindness and curiosity. Our multi-day residential retreats teach participants proven awareness and concentration practices. Through guided mindfulness meditation, small group discussions, and mindful movement, participants learn how to settle a busy mind, direct and sustain attention, investigate emotions and thoughts, cultivate compassion, and communicate with their peers. Working with experienced teachers and mentors, teens get to explore mindfulness in a fun and supportive environment.
Research on the impact of mindfulness has shown benefits including increased self-awareness, improved focus and impulse control, decreased stress and anxiety, skillful responses to difficult emotions and increased empathy.
