The Internship Program for Overseas Registered Nurses has been developed by Melbourne City Institute of Education, MCIE, to enable the graduates of the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses (IRON) program to further develop their skills by gaining (paid) practical experience while undertaking a workplace based structured training program. As an intern, you will be considered an employee of the host organisation and will be paid in accordance with Australia’s industrial relation laws. The average hourly rate for interns is AU$20-$24.
