About Program
Gain practical, hands-on experience with a wide variety of reptile and amphibian species in both field and captive settings. Learn from career professionals in regular seminars, workshops and guest lectures. Be part of a group that is quarantined safely but able to interact with each other in a residential setting. Acquire job skills, networking connections, and resume builders that are essential for success.
Learn about animal husbandry practices by caring for 500+ captive reptiles and amphibians (more than 70 species) and participating in rehabilitation and head-starting of animals to be returned to the wild. Participate in fieldwork such as wetland/terrestrial/road surveys, field data collection, mark-recapture methods, morphometric data collection, blood sampling and much more. Gain knowledge from lecture and classroom-based settings to complete personal projects based on your own interests and using data from our conservation work.
