About Program
ACIPP Ghana medical internships are hosted at the Doctors in Service (DIS) clinic in Abura, Cape Coast, Ghana. Interns are able to work rotations within different departments (including general medicine, nursing, gynecology, maternity, and pharmacy) based on their interests. In addition, interns are given the opportunity to develop their medical skills, work directly with patients, and experience healthcare in the developing world. Opportunities to assist in various projects/research (based on personal interests) are also availabile. Interns should be currently enrolled (or completed) a programme in Medicine or Nursing.
At the start of the internship, interns will be required to complete introductory training covering the procedures for blood collection, utilization and management of specific medical equipment, and standard lab protocols.
