International Partnerships Internship
International Partnerships Internship
About Program
As Haiti’s first rural university, the mission of the University of Fondwa (UNIF) is to develop Haitian citizens who will lead the sustainable and integrated development of their country. Graduates of UNIF contribute to their communities of origin and help reconstruct the country by transforming local resources into economic, intellectual, and environmental wealth.
Degrees offered by UNIF currently include veterinary science, agronomy, and business management, and it is the vision of UNIF that all 572 communal sections of Haiti one day have access to a trained veterinarian, agronomist, and business professional. Key areas of ongoing research include strengthening food sovereignty, sweet potato development, and ensuring sanitary slaughterhouse conditions.
An International Partnerships Intern is someone with knowledge of international development and the capacity to live in rural Haiti for three months or more. Proficiency in Haitian Creole/French and English is a must.
