Are you passionate about animals and interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or animal sciences? Imagine having the opportunity to not only gain hands-on experience in the field, but also to do so while surrounded by the stunning natural beauty and rich culture of Italy.
The Doctors in Italy VetMed Fellowship Program offers exactly that. By shadowing veterinary professionals who specialize in various disciplines, you will have the chance to shadow veterinarians and animal caregivers at some of the most important animal rescues throughout the country.
But this program is so much more than just an educational opportunity. It's a chance to be inspired by the beauty of Italy, to immerse yourself in a new culture, and to expand your horizons both personally and professionally. It's a chance to gain a new perspective on the world and on the role that vet medicine can play in improving the lives of animals and humans alike.

Popular Programs
The Perugia program partners with three different rescues and offers the richest experience in terms of animal variety in pristine nature. At the rescues, you’ll have a chance to shadow a wildlife rescue of owls, wolves, foxes, boars, deers, bats, porcupines, and many other species you haven’t even heard of as well as a family-run farm animal rescue where you'll see animals thriving thanks to the love and care they receive.
