About Program

The first of its kind in Laos, the LCTW is an all-taxa wildlife rescue center that rehabilitates and releases wildlife caught up in the illegal wildlife trade, when possible. At LCTW, we currently care for a huge variety of species numbering over 400 animals, some of these include Macaques, Gibbons, Hornbills, Slow Loris, Bears, Crocodiles, Deer, Civets, Jackals, Elephant, Leopard, Binturong, and other reptiles.

We can cater to any animal science placements or studies, depending on the areas of interest. We can offer hands-on wildlife husbandry experience and training coached by our management team and coordinators. We can also facilitate individual and group wildlife research projects, such as studies on behaviour, nutrition, health, husbandry, as well as studies monitoring the effects of the illegal wildlife trade and the rehabilitation process. Gain international experience while making unforgettable memories!

Amazing Internship!!!

I had the best time of my life at this rescue centre, and learned so much! The staff were amazing and so helpful, they were always around if I needed anything. Even though its a very rural location, the local village is very quaint and the local people are so friendly. In the evenings, the coordinators organized a few games and drinking nights, and I felt like we really bonded well. Let alone the animals! So many beautiful, special animals that I got to work with. You get to feel really connected in the fight against the illegal wildlife trade, and see first-hand the effects it has. Will defininitely come back after I graduate!
