My gap year with TRU Experience Travel was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From start to finish, the entire experience was incredibly well organised, supportive, and genuinely life-changing. The team went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable, included, and excited for every part of the journey.

What made the trip so special was the perfect balance between adventure, culture, personal growth, and meeting amazing people from all over the world. Every activity felt thoughtfully planned, and I always felt safe and looked after while still having the freedom to make unforgettable memories.

The group leaders were absolutely brilliant — friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and full of energy. They made such a huge difference to the experience and helped create such a positive atmosphere throughout the trip. I came away with not only incredible memories and experiences, but also genuine friendships and so much more confidence in myself.

I would recommend TRU Experience Travel to absolutely anyone considering a gap year or solo travel adventure. It exceeded every expectation I had, and I’m already looking forward to travelling with them again in the future

It was so much fun. We got to complete so many different projects and really help the local community. Our leader, Hannah, was bubbly and friendly, and really got involved with the activities. We had a wonderful opportunity to visit and experience lots of local culture - especially with the Akkah Hill tribe homestay. But we also had lots of opportunities to work and help the local children and to make their lives slightly happier. At the first school, we taught some basic English to the children and then played games with them. We also moved a wood pile and made a path and helped to paint their new canteen. At the second school, we stripped and painted the walls of the 5 different classrooms. At the Akkha Hill tribe we had the wonderful opportunity to trek to the highest point in Chiang Rai and go to a hot spa.

I would like to take the opportunity to leave my review to such a well organised and kind company. From the very start of enquiring about a trip to now the team at tru have been phenomenal especially Hannah who is the Managing Director at the company. I visited South East Asia and took part in volunteering, cultural engagement and a road trip across Northern Thailand. It has been the absolute dream trip of a life time. I can not Thank the team enough for being so incredible. Thank you very much for the best trip of my life to date., I have met so many amazing new friends including staff and people from all walks of life and different countries, whom I will be in touch with for a life time, for that I also Thank you. I took part in the India Tour which gave us such a huge insite to the real india. Tru experience travel really wen all out for this one, and every single thing was touched. I booked my experience with Tru Experience Travel, to the Philippines volunteer Teaching Palawan. I can truly say it was the most amazing experience that i have ever had, From the very beginning booking my trip with Tru Experience travel i spoke with Hannah she was brilliant. Giving me information about the different destinations i had in mind she never ones rushed me and made a sales pitch like the other companies i looked at. Hannah was all about helping me find the right volunteer project that suited my needs and always easy to get into contact with. Hannah also contacted me when i got to the volunteer project to see if everything was ok and if i need anything else just to contact her or the volunteer coordinator. The volunteer house was something out of a dream it was on the beach, in the mornings when you step out of your front door it was a vision of beauty with your feet on golden sand and clear blue sea waves. Teaching in Palawan I can now say with confidence that I can teach a whole class of children, the children are adorable and cute it was a pleasure every time i would teach them. Most importantly by going to the volunteer project it has connected me with whole entire different group of people halfway across the world from the local Filipino people to the friends i made from the volunteer house welcomed me with open arms. i have nothing but happy memories and a place that has stolen my heart. i cant wait to return, something that i will 100% be doing again. i just what to add Glory and Helen that work in the volunteer house are incredible. Truly the best thing i have ever done thanks Tru Experience Travel for an amazing time.

I have so many stories to tell, All I can say is that volunteering with Tru experience Travel has been the best experience in my life to date. I couldn't have asked for anything more from my experience.
