About Program
We do not offer paid internships or cater for volunteering experiences. To be eligible for a Work the World medical internship, you need to be in medical school, or have equivalent clinical experience (MD or equivalent). We can also not accept premeds.
Medical interns in Nepal will find it the perfect setting to get to grips with healthcare in the developing world. Health complaints like insect and snake bites are commonplace, as well as typhoid, worm infestations, TB, HIV and rheumatic fever. Under the guidance of specialists, interns will also have the opportunity to work in both the larger, and smaller, niche departments of our partner hospital, both observing and getting practical experience. Work the World also offers interns the opportunity to practice in a low-resource rural village nestled in the Himalayan foothills.
When the working day is over, you’ll find yourself surrounded by natural beauty with paragliding, bungee jumping, or jungle trekking on offer.
