About Program
We do not offer paid internships or cater for volunteering experiences. To be eligible for a Work the World nursing internship, you need to be in nursing school, or have equivalent clinical experience (MD or equivalent). We can also not accept premeds.
Lying in the shadows of the impressive Himalayan Mountains, the city of Pokhara is one steeped in ancient history and captivating culture. Whilst here, you’ll work in a developing healthcare system, gleaning unparalleled insight from the low-resource nature of Work the World’s partner clinics and departments. Complaints like leprosy and typhoid are commonplace, and there is also the opportunity to gain experience in neonatal intensive care, as well as with diseases and ailments specific to Nepal which you’ll will likely be unfamiliar with.
Once the working day is over you'll discover Nepal offers something for everyone - from paragliding with birds of prey and going on safari, to winding through ancient streets.
