Why did you choose this program?

IVHQ had so many places for me to choose from, and the staff reached out to me right away.

My son is studying to be a lawyer, which made the price of the program extremely important. Fortunately, it was a great fit for my budget.

When I visited the website, it just felt right and I knew they were the provider for me.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The program provider answered all of my questions and eased my fears from the start. On my own, I had to follow instructions for a background check, get my shots, pay the fees, and buy my ticket. I planned this trip as a birthday present to myself!

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

If you come with an open heart and mind, the only time you'll find yourself disappointed is when you have to leave.

You're coming into someone's life for a short period of time, so try to be true to yourself and let them see your heart. Hopefully, they'll remember you. I know I'll never forget them.

I loved bringing the kids treats like juice boxes fruit or toys. The look on their face is priceless. The only thing I would change is to stay longer.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

Early morning rise, have breakfast and get ready for work. Transportation is arranged to and from work, and for lunch and dinner as well. Afterward, there's plenty of time to explore and act like a tourist.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I was afraid of going so far away from home by myself. I overcame it when I arrived at the house I would be staying in and met the other volunteers.
