Why did you choose this program?
I choose the Childcare program because I love children and I want to help people and I want to make a difference in society. It makes me develop new skills, meet new people and learn more . Volunteering is and incredible experience that makes me feel good about myself and ability to impact the world positively.
What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?
My program provider assisted me with meals, airport pickup, accommodation , guidance, direction, help and support. I had to organize my traveling ticket and make sure I put effort into the program with an open mind. My university also assisted me with guidance with my studies. However, my program provider gave valid information about the program.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?
One piece of advice I would give to someone going for the program is get ready to engage , interact and enjoy your volunteering. I tell my friends its a very good experience and skills, which they will love. I am already engaged with friends and families by sharing my experience and with pictures and videos.
What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?
An average day is breakfast at 7:30am, going to the volunteering placement in the morning at 8:00 am, after come back home relax if you feel like. Some children use to come around in the accommodation , we intereact play with them. Then dinner at 19:00 pm. On weekend you can choose to go on a trip or do what you want.
Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?
I actually did not have any biggest fear. My mind was made up for this and I had done it before. I was happy to do volunteer in different country. I was only concerned about embracing new cultures and traditions, adapting to their lifestyle. Nonetheless, it is worth every bit of the journey . I enjoy the food and environment.
Write and answer your own question.
I wish I had stayed longer. But all the same, any prospective traveler will want to know; it is an experience, explore and learn new cultures and traditions and you will love it.
