Magda is originally from Greece but she grew up in four different countries: the UK, Greece, Belgium, and Jordan. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science and working as a programmer in London, she decided to move to a career that would allow her to be more communicative, especially with young people from different countries! In Barcelona she has gained experience coordinating young volunteers and international students. Magda loves Barcelona and enjoys transmitting her passion about the city to others.

What is your favorite travel memory?

When I was a teenager living in Jordan, we went on a trip to Egypt with my family. I remember how excited I was by the rich history, the vivid colors and the different tastes.

I won’t forget the shop owners offering camels in exchange of young girls, presenting this part of their ‘culture’, in the Al-Halil market.

It was one of the trips that woke up my interest in learning about different cultures and ensured me that traveling would become one of my favorite hobbies. Returning to Egypt as an adult is one thing pending in my to-do list.

How would you describe the ideal candidate for this program?

The ideal candidate is a person who is curious, passionate and open to learn from new cultures. At the same time they need to be able to respect the differences.

The candidate should be ready to face new challenges, to work in a new diversified atmosphere and be in international groups.

He/she should be willing to socialize and gain new skills and knowledge through meeting and working with other people with various cultural backgrounds.

What are some extra-curricular activities interns participate in during this program?

Both Barcelona and London are cities that have a variety of things to offer to cover different people’s needs. While we encourage interns to be independent and give them tips on what to explore, we also provide them with some activities that we believe the interns cannot miss during their stay at their preferred destination.

These activities range from daily excursions to cities nearby, to experiencing local habits that tourists don’t usually see. Some examples for Barcelona include: tapas/paella dinners, day trip to Sitges or the opportunity to see FC Barcelona play live. For London these might include Mile End Rock climbing, day trips to Oxford and many more.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

The fact that our programs are customizable. We take into account the different needs of the students as they are able to choose from a range of different services, making their experience more unique.

Another factor is that, in order for us to provide the students with the most valuable internship experience, we understand the importance of building strong relationships with our partners. That’s why our offices are in the two locations our programs are running. It also ensures that the students have an ongoing support as they can contact us any time.
