What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory was when I went to Laos for the first time in 2017. I had never been to another country before because when I was growing up my family couldn’t afford to take us for holidays!

Even though I only visited Laos, which is a neighboring country with Thailand, I really loved every moment of it! It was great to see the similarities with Thailand, but also the differences. Since going for the first time in 2017 I have actually been back to Laos 4 times altogether. I especially love eating their famous baguette bread with pate & chili sauce, and I really enjoy using the money in Laos; 1000 baht, which is Thai money, usually gets me around 240,000 Kip. It’s so much fun!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since joining Kids English Thailand in 2018 I would have to say my greatest improvement/change is my ability to communicate in English. With this company, I spend every day communicating with foreigners and coordinating with schools. When I first started in this role, I was really afraid and shy when communicating with foreign teachers. Nowadays, I actually look forward to the opportunity to meet someone new. A complete 180 on how I was just over a year ago!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

A teacher named David stands out for me. He is from South Africa. When he came to Thailand to teach, he was a little shy and reserved. But David really took to teaching English and he found he was actually really good at it!

Being in front of the students in the classroom every day really helped to increase his confidence and he really came out of his shell. After six months with Kids English, David made the decision to go to the USA to study a Master's degree in Business, and he says it’s because of his time with Kids English Thailand that he found the confidence to do that!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I think all programs at Kids English Thailand are great because the services for teachers are free. But of course, I work there so I’m biased!

But if I had to choose, it would be the Teach & Discover Thailand Teacher Training Program. Personally, I don’t have teaching experience, so I wouldn’t take advantage of Kids English Thailand’s Job Opportunities without first getting some training on how to be a teacher, etc.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Kids English Thailand provides free services to teachers. At no point will any money be asked for! I think this is amazing, and it provides the opportunity for people who are on a much stricter budget the opportunity to discover some truly spectacular places, all the while making a significant impact on the lives of Thailand’s Young Generation.

I feel especially proud of Kids English Thailand because they genuinely work to put the right teacher in the right school at the right time. This means that everyone involved, from the teachers to the schools, to the students, end up satisfied!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think that a company’s success comes from the passion of the staff team! If the staff team believes in the company’s mission, I think that the company has a much higher chance of success! Here at Kids English Thailand, they have a mission that I can really stand behind and strive for! I am proud to be a team member at Kids English and I hope to remain with KET and grow and develop myself, as well as help the KET to grow and reach new heights!
