Manuel is currently working in Beijing as a Local Coordinator. He has studied in America for one year and therefore fully understands the cultural differences a foreign student encounters when they come to a country they have never been to before. He is always willing to talk and help the students as much as he can.
What is your favorite travel memory?
Back in 2017, my mom and I visited the host family that I lived with while I was a student in America. It was during the Christmas season, and you could see Christmas decorations everywhere. My host family entertained us and showed us around. We had a big meal on Christmas Eve.
It was an unforgettable memory.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
I have grown a lot since working for this company. You can really learn from all the au pairs and their host families, their cultures and values. Most importantly, I have learned to resolve complex situations.
Whenever problems are solved, everyone is relieved. I could feel that my work is valuable and meaningful.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
One of the best stories I’ve heard from my students would be when a host family in China visited her last year. She was their previous au pair and had a great time living with them in China. When they visited her, her family prepared a grand welcome party and did a fireworks display for them!
(P.S. The fireworks were made in China, hah).
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
It is so hard to choose because every program is well-designed and attractive. If I have to choose one, I think I want to be an au pair in a European country, probably in Germany. I've never been to Germany before and I think it would be very different than an English-speaking country like America. And also learning a new language is so much fun!
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
We are a professional company with experienced staff, which has served so many au pairs before. For example, there was a student who had a visa problem; she almost gave up coming to China, but after we checked her materials and talked to the Chinese Embassy, she got her visa eventually.
I am so proud of my team!
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
I believe the biggest factor would be always thinking of the customer. We are a professional service provider, which requires a rich experienced team, and a supportive pastoral system to be there when you need help. Our team is undefeated and creative. If you choose our company, you choose professionalism.
