Interview

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favorite trips was my first trip to Latin America, it was a continent that always caught my attention, with such a similar culture and the same language, but diverse at the same time. Rich in expressions and words that we don't use in Spain and with people with a character very similar to that of the south of Spain, where I am from.

I felt welcome immediately, with nice people and a thousand things to discover. Different food and traditions inherited from Spain. A world to get to know. I lived there for 2 years and I was able to be part of the society and work as a Spanish teacher there, at the same time very active in the cultural life of Buenos Aires. Full of exhibitions, first class graffiti artists, conferences and a lot of theatre.

It was a special experience that marked me and gave me a lot. I made friends with whom I still keep in touch today. And I remember that stage of my life with special affection. I know that I will return one day and I will find a wonderful country with special people.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since I started working with Spanish Express I have been very happy and grateful for the way they have involved me in many of the actions they carry out in the company. I feel welcome and fulfilled and happy to have started with them.

I love hosting Spanish students and what it gives me to live with and teach a student from anywhere in the world.

At Spanish Express there are always interesting challenges and projects that excite me and encourage me to keep learning and improving. It's great to connect with such dynamic and active people. I love it, I really enjoy it.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One year I had a group of students from the University of Georgia in the USA and the group was super nice and it was a great 6 weeks in Cadiz. Years later I found out that two guys from the group fell in love and started dating in Cádiz and years later they got married. And they decided that their honeymoon trip had to be in Cádiz. So they went back and had a wonderful honeymoon in the place where love was born.

Another guy from that course in Cadiz was working hard and wanted to improve his Spanish because he wanted to work in business between his country (USA) and Latin America. This guy had me on Facebook and knew that I lived in Buenos Aires, because he was going to go to Buenos Aires, so he told me and we met after several years of his stay in Cadiz. He told me that he was in a very important American company and that he was very happy in his job, because he was constantly traveling around Latin America and that made him very happy.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Without a doubt, I would go to stay with a teacher to learn a language, because it is the way to get to an unknown place that you want to discover with the help of a local teacher who will guide you, who will do activities with you and who will teach you Spanish.

I think it's great to have the help of a local and your independence to move around on your own but with the guidance of someone who is from there.

I would choose the south, because of the special people. It's very easy to talk to anyone on the street, everyone is friendly and will try to help you, guide you or give you advice on what you need to know. There are sunny days most of the year and if it coincides with important festivals such as Carnival, Easter or others... you will enjoy yourself enormously.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I would say that what makes Spanish Express special is that it is personalized to the highest degree. The most important thing is to create the program that the student is looking for. And the dedication and effort that is put into each project makes it special.

It's like getting a tailor-made suit, where you are comfortable, where you are neither hot nor cold, where you feel at ease, and you look better. If it were a suit, everyone would buy it! Hehehehehehehe

The teachers are always professionals and experts, who make you develop skills constantly, fluency, fluency, and make you feel confident in speaking. Teachers who focus their efforts on the communication part and that you can practice and develop your learning in the place where you spend your stay.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I would say that the biggest factor in being a successful company is hard work, dedication and love for what you do. The team is made up of people who love what they do, who can spend days and days working non-stop because they are passionate about it. And you don't find that in every company. I think that's the basis of their success.
