Expensive but worth it

I spent 6 months at Bayswater and I had a lot of fun. I had to work a lot so I didn’t get to participate in the activities after class but I heard good things about them. The teaching is exceptional. It’s been a year since I left so I can’t remember all their names but Carine, Astrid and Jean were really lovely. Everything was explained well and I passed my DELF B2 first time. If you take l’intensif then this time will be used to help you prepare for an upcoming exam, if you have one. I feel very confident speaking french and actually being exposed to it daily was so so useful. I live in Austria now and I still speak french regularly but I really miss the opportunity Bayswater gave. Also it’s in the heart of Paris and so well located. People from all over the world with ages from 15-90 was super great to connect with people from different walks of life.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I wouldn’t do it alongside work and I would dedicate all my time to Bayswater. It was quite intense having class all morning to then go into meetings. But that’s not a result of the school, and they were very accommodating with my schedule.
Pros
  • Fantastic teaching
  • Great community
  • Opportunities to develop
Cons
  • Expensive
  • Not for early risers

Young Learner course in Paris with Bayswater!

I did a 1-week French course with Bayswater and loved it! The school is in the very centre of Paris and what made it stand out was how effective it was. I was able to apply my conversational skills and feel my pronunciation in French improve. The teachers spoke French and expected French from us so my listening comprehension also improved. I also made many new friends and the class and activities were really fun. It was so nice to learn together with people from other countries and it felt special to have a cultural, bonding experience. Thank you Bayswater, I wish to return for longer!

What was your funniest moment?
There was a fellow classmate from Canada with whom we became friends and tried to practise speaking in French all the time. A lot of funny moments came from trying to find the right word in French and had a good laugh every time!
Pros
  • Very good conversational teaching exclusively in French
  • Great opportunity to make new friends
  • Listening comprehension improved
Cons
  • Can't think of any!

Bayswater Paris in the summer

I really enjoyed my time at Bayswater Paris where I spent a week studying French in the centre of Paris with other students of similar age from around the world. The teachers were very considerate and patient and I appreciated the way the encouraged us to speak French to each other at all times. I made lots of friends and it was a great opportunity to socialize and interact with people from different countries and cultures. The teaching method was great because they really made attention to our learning needs.

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest memory studying at Bayswater Paris was of a classmate trying to tell us a story about a pigeon in French! The teacher used flashcards and it became a very fun activity.
Pros
  • Multicultural experience in class
  • Use of French exclusively in class
  • Improving my skills in French
Cons
  • Students getting distracted
