Beginners and Advanced summer courses in Spoken Arabic
- Israel
About Program
Every year Givat Haviva offers a six weeks summer courses (beginners and advanced) July-August. The summer courses focus on the spoken Arabic (Palestinian dialect).
During the summer courses, you will study both inside and outside the classroom. Class takes place five days a week, five hours per day morning session (total of 150 hours). We choose to focus on colloquial Arabic, because we believe that today one cannot communicate or even understand the Arabic media without knowing spoken Arabic in at least one dialect.
In addition to the language studies (5 hours per day), our program includes 8 short field trips in the local Wadi Ara area, two workshops of cooking Arabic food and learning Arabic songs and Debka dancing, visiting your Arabic host families, and watching movies on social and political issues in Israel and the Middle East.
In addition to this program which occurs every summer, we also offer Individual Programs tailored to suit your budget, time and goals.
