Five month intensive Arabic semester

Every year Givat Haviva offers a five-month semester from mid-January to mid-June. During the Intensive Arabic Semester, you will take part in a variety of courses both inside and outside the classroom.

Class takes place five days a week, with a morning session and an afternoon session. There are three official course subjects that we offer in our program: Arabic Language, Hebrew Language, and Middle East History or Current Events. The Arabic courses cover both Modern Standard Arabic (100 hours) and Palestinian colloquial Arabic (400 hours) which makes it unique among other programs in the region. We choose to focus on colloquial because we believe that today one cannot communicate or even understand the Arabic media without knowing spoken Arabic in at least one dialect.
