Excellent Immersion Experience

My immersion experience in Seville with TEC SEVILLA Escuela de Idiomas en Nervión
was truly wonderful and transformative. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced Spanish speaker, Carmen tailors her lesson plans to your specific needs. Our family elected for the 2 weeks immersion, first week in Seville and second week at her beachside location. We absolutely fell in love with her beachside location and explored the surrounding areas, including wind surfing in Tarifa and even venturing down to Tangier, Morocco to see the Blue City Chefchaouen. Upon arriving in Seville, we had lessons both at her school and in our apartment. Carmen offers a unique approach to language learning as she seamlessly integrates everyday life, culture, and history into our learning. TEC SEVILLA provides an outstanding resource for language learning and I’m definitely returning for more immersion in the future. I highly recommend TEC SEVILLA.

The most wonderful, welcoming, fun family and a beautiful experience.

I absolutely loved my experience with TEC Sevilla. I felt like my Spanish significantly improved because of my stay with Carmen, and felt encouraged and supported to speak even when I was unsure of myself. More than this, though, my experience with her family was absolutely lovely. Carmen is so warm friendly, she welcomed me into her family and treated me like her own.

I first stayed for a week in their home in Zaharra de los Atunes, a quaint beach town beaming with personality. I would wake up in the mornings and go for a run on the most beautiful beach, and then we would have a classic spanish breakfast with seasonal fruit, jamon iberico, or tortilla de patatas. Then we would have class-- she tailored curriculum to fit my interests and what would be most practical for me. We rarely spoke in english, which I felt was incredibly helpful to my progression.

Then, I stayed for two weeks with her family in their home located in the center of Sevilla. This was both exciting and incredibly convenient for sight seeing and exploring. We went to la Torre de la Giralda, La Plaza de Espana, a late night play at The Royal Alcazar, saw Flamenco dancers, sought out the tiles of Cervantes, went in the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever seen, saw Cristopher Columbus' tomb, and more. I love food and we went to the best local spots, snuck past a store front to go to a local secret chorizo & cheese counter with the best sandwich I've ever had. There were special things like this every day. Her daughter, who is around my age, took me out on the town one night too! It was a wonderful experience that I would strongly recommend to anyone lucky enough to make it there!

Pros
  • wonderful social, family experience
  • food, culture
