About

ISTITUTO EUROPEO specializes in teaching the Italian language, art, music, and culture to students from all over the world. Located in the heart of Florence, the institute runs many programs, but its most successful program is its Internship Program. The internship program gives students the opportunity to achieve practical work experience in their field of study by interning at a Florence-based business: studios, offices, university research labs, architecture, and other fields. Our philosophy is to make learning fun. This allows students to study both the Italian language and culture in detail in a friendly and enjoyable environment. IE is officially recognized by the Region of Tuscany, delegated by the Italian Ministry of Education and is accredited as a Centre for Professional Training. IE is also certified to meet UNI ENI ISO 9001:2015 cert. No 17.0111-SGQ the internationally recognized standard of quality management systems.

Yes, I recommend this program

I was on the course in November for four weeks. Although there was only one student besides me on the course, the teaching was of good quality and the lessons held on schedule. The teachers and teaching materials were of high quality and the staff friendly. The location in the old town center allowed for inspiring coffee breaks. I highly recommend Instituto Europe for studying Italian. All in all, it was a great experience. Indeed, it was a kind of dream come true to study Italian in Florence for me!

i had 2 teachers, both of which helped me a lot in apprehending and practicing the language! All in all, I had a great time! Classes were at the same time interesting, fun, and instructive. I felt they really tried hard to make it easy and excellent to know italian. The best thing of all is that it was very small group of students so it felt like very very intensive and private lessons. Which is something very rare nowadays. The stuff at Istituto Europeo does care about its students, for real! And you can tell!

Translated by Go Overseas:

I was able to learn vocal music in the culture (environment) where the opera was born.
Life at homestay was particularly cultural.
The landlord prepared a homemade meal every day, and I enjoyed my meal time every day.
In vocal lessons, I was grateful to be able to practice at school.
In addition, the lessons are rich in vocalization, diction, and colleti lessons, and if you wish, you can learn mainly about what you want to know in detail.

I also learned the Italian language needed for the song.
The course was divided into several.
In the class, I felt that I had to not only wait for the teacher to be nominated, but also to use Italian while being aware of even a few new words.
In addition, I learned all about the sound of Italian in a stone-sounding environment unique to Italy, the Italian language often used by Italians, and the Italian gestures.

Original Review:

Setting up the internship was pretty easy. The process is fast and the cost is cheap! I chose to live with a family. This allowed me to save some money as dinner was provided. In addition, I got to practice Italian. I do think socially though it would have been better to live with other students. The internship itself was more of a research project. I learned a lot but I do wish it was more hands on with the people I worked with. It was still a great experience though. Plus, I got to live in Florence for two months.

Translation: For me it was a wonderful experience that lasted 3 months, in which I took daily Italian morning class, as well as art history and Tuscan cuisine. I invite you to live the experience of Florence and its culture accompanied by the European Institute. It is a very good program. And I will never forget this experience. I am sure that the memory of this course will accompany me for a long time in my life! I can't wait to go back! Trust me on this! You really can't improve. Rinaldo and all his staff are really the best! A family!

Roberto Becattini

Job Title
Italian Language Teacher
I'm a professional Italian language teacher (category L2) since 2014 and. During these last incredible six years, I've had the chance to work in a variety of countries (such as Argentina, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic) and in institutional realities. I taught in all kinds of situations and to students with all kinds of educational needs. Moreover, I'm qualified to impart classes for all the most important, National language certificate tests (such as CILS, PLIDA, CELI).

In parallel to my teaching experience, I've been involved with training volunteers in the field of linguistic facilitation and with various projects for the integration of asylum-seekers and refugees.

What is your favorite travel memory?

It's been in Israel and West Bank. Jerusalem, full of tensions, magic, different ancient cultures; Haifa, the main center of best religion in the world: Baha'i; Jaffa and Tel Aviv, the two faces of the medal; Hebron, the heart of the clash; Nablus, with its curfew at midnight...

I have met wonderful people from both countries and I will never forget the conversations and the looks, among all the trips I had there.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Istituto Europeo has allowed me to keep a window open on the world without physically traveling abroad! It permitted me to be passionately involved in the exchange of ideas and new culture with students coming from all over the world! Even more importantly, working at Istituto Europeo has allowed me to improve considerably my teaching skills!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I remember that, not too long ago, I taught a couple of young football players from Argentina, both of whom were, at the time, looking for a contract in a national team here in Italy. And you know what? As it turned out, one of them is now the goalkeeper of Udinese in the Italian national football league, the so-called Serie A!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Well, it's quite obvious, considering my position as a CILS teacher! I must go for the preparation course for CILS certification. Many guys who want to study, work and live in Italy are required to get that certificate! Without it, they would lose so many opportunities!

It's a pleasure to help such motivated people!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Istituto Europeo is really a welcoming and friendly reality! It can easily become like a second family for the teachers as well as for students, who come here in Italy usually by themselves, alone and always in need of some support, especially for documents, visas and all kinds of bureaucratic issues that may arise!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Innovation ability and capacity to perceive the changes the process of globalization has brought in the world as a whole, and, more specifically, in the world of language education.

Istituto Europeo is always a step ahead, updating constantly its educational curriculum to adapt to the changing environment and demand.
