Mission of Hope

Why choose Mission of Hope?

As an organization following Jesus Christ, Mission of Hope exists to bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child. With campuses in the Caribbean, we partner with local churches to transform lives through church advancement, nutrition, education, and medical care.

You can help share the love of Christ by serving on a short-term mission trip with Mission of Hope in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, or Key West, FL. Every year, we host thousands of mission trip participants from around the world. You can serve on a one-week mission trip and experience the joy and dignity of our neighbors around the world. We also facilitate medical mission trips.

Mission Trip in Haiti & Dominican Republic

I loved my time serving both in Haiti & the Dominican Republic with Mission of Hope. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced. In both countries, I was able to build relationships, catch a glimpse of what God is doing in the country & in their lives, as well as share the Gospel. My favorite part was seeing God in the people I met & in the places surrounding me. The staff with Mission of Hope leading up to my trip, as well as the staff & interns in each country were phenomenal. They were excellent in doing their jobs well, while still building relationships with the teams on the ground. Mission of Hope's heart is for brining life transformation to every man, woman & child. I would go back again with them in a heartbeat!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just GO!! It's one of the best decisions I ever made. Your life will be changed, and you will meet the most incredible people.

One week trip to four month internship

My experience on mission trips with Mission of Hope was so impactful, that I quit my full-time job to intern with them. The way that Mission of Hope cares for people, fights to meet needs, encourages their interns, shares the gospel through action, and loves people fiercely is incredible. They do a great job in showing you the need, but bringing hope to the forefront. Mornings would start early in the eating area that was shared with Haitian staff, other teams, interns, and North American staff. After breakfast, we would load up the busses with our team and head to the village we were focused on that week. We would work on our project during the morning, usually eat lunch in the village or go back to campus, get back to work in the afternoon, and were back on campus by 4:30PM. Our days would end with a delicious dinner and either a planned program from Mission of Hope or a fun game night with your team. You won't regret going!

What would you improve about this program?
There is nothing that I would change in my opinion.

My Favorite Mission Trip

I have been traveling with Mission of Hope for 10 years now. They never fail to radically change my life for the better. It's an amazing opportunity to see God work and be overwhelmed by his greatness! I would recommend Mission of Hope for anyone looking to serve overseas! You will go and change lives, and come back with your own life changed! They encourage team members to always live on missions and pursue people to share the gospel. It is a great organization that is constantly growing and making an impact on more and more people every day. The staff and interns are so hard working and loving. I love that they genuinely care for the teams coming in! Their heart is for every man, woman, and child, including you and me. If you have the opportunity to take a trip with Mission of Hope, I wouldn't pass it up. God can do some great things when we just say yes to what he has for us.

What is your favorite travel memory?

Visiting my friends in the community of Leveque, a partner village we work in. Also, having the ability to serve on disaster relief trips in the south of Haiti after Hurricane Matthew hit is something I will remember forever. The resilience of the people of Haiti, and the hope they have in the Lord is beautiful.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have experienced leadership growth and increased compassion since working at Mission of Hope. So many things I have seen in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and neighboring islands who have experienced disaster have grown me in an understanding of how to respond to hurting people and share the love of Christ in words and action.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I've seen students who experienced a life-changing week while serving on a mission trip who traveled back to their home with a renewed sense of purpose. I have seen a one week trip literally transform the next 51 weeks of a student's year.

Programs have been started, relationships mended, a vision given—mission trips have truly been a catalyst for life change for people.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I personally love the mission trips and the medical mission trips. There is something refreshing about being in a different "normal" for a week. I also think helping end the current food crisis in Haiti by joining Team Hope is a wonderful program where you can provide a daily meal to a child for just $10/month. You can find out more at our website if you're interested.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I'm so proud to have a company that is bold in their faith in Christ, excellent in their work, and continuing to empower local leadership in each of the countries we serve. Mission of Hope is full of integrity, vision, passion, and honestly FUN.

Every day I am reminded that I am playing my part in a story much bigger than myself, and it is so worth it!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

From the beginning, Mission of Hope has focused on being an organization following Jesus Christ. I truly believe that is a distinguishing factor in our company and is a reason that we are willing to run hard after the vision of reaching every man, woman, and child.

Unity, integrity, vision, passion, hard-work, and friendship are present at Mission of Hope.
