My Best Volunteering Experience

From the first day, their welcoming and warmth towards me have been nothing but clear. Whether it be guiding through Ghanaian culture or teaching construction, they have made more sacrifices than I can count to make sure their volunteers (including me) got a wonderful experience. Having been there 6 weeks, I got the opportunity to experience both construction and the children. Beyond academics, the environment there is better than anything you could imagine. Whilst life is simple, the community, rooted in brotherhood and love, made it pass so much quicker and enjoyable. Really, my time there zoomed through. I would like to also mention how amazing the impact of this project is. By proving food, education, and shelter to underprivileged kids in a rural setting, you really make a difference. Seth always likes to mention how volunteers are the backbone of the organization, and while this is true, none of this could have happened without his and Naomi’s endless dedication. If there is ANY project I could recommend for volunteers, this is the one if you want to make a true difference.

Very memorable experience

My dad and I spent two weeks volunteering for the construction and renovation project in Ghana, and it was an experience that we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Seth and Naomi, making us feel right at home. Seth's transparency and dedication to the cause were evident from the start. He consistently kept us informed about how our contributions were being used, which reassured us that we were truly making a difference in the lives of the people we were there to help. The opportunity to immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of Ghana was truly enriching. I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone looking to make a tangible impact while experiencing the beauty and culture of Ghana. It's an adventure that will stay with you long after you return home.

An unforgettable experience

My Name is Nils, I went alone for 3 Weeks to Ghana, Senya Beraku for volunteering when I was 16. Seth came to greet me at the Airport and it was great. Seth and Naomi then hosted me as a family member since the first day. I learned much stuff about building and Ghanian culture. The life-rhythm they have, gives energy and motivation in the morning that I never had before. Naomi showed me delicious local foods, and she showed me how to teach to little kids. Seth was really honest and all the money usage was completely transparent. We went to the village really often, and we spoke to many people. The people there are so friendly and open to conversation, and I could meet many new persons.

If you are looking for doing volunteering, I recommend to you St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation with all my heart.
I am sure they have all you are looking for in volunteering and even more.
And we need your help.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would directly work with SMWEF instead of going through another organization. All the money would have been to help and the costs would have been lower.
Pros
  • Get to know the beautiful ghanian culture by living with Seth and Naomi
  • Discover delicious local food
  • The people living there are kind and open to conversation like i've never seen in europe
