What if you are married can your spouse come with you?

Thank you for your question!
Spouses of JETs can apply for a 'Dependent Visa', which will allow them to live in Japan along with the JET. The Spouse can also apply for a work permit, which will allow them to pursue part time employment in Japan if they so wish.
However, while JET participants' initial flights and hotel fees are covered by the JET Program, spouses and other dependents are liable to pay for their own plane tickets and initial hotel stay. As the first weeks after arrival are often quite hectic, we usually recommend spouses follow the JET to Japan after a month or so has passed to allow the JET to settle and arrange things first.
