No, an applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree conferred before s/he can be a participant on the JET Program.

To participate in the program, you should have at least a bachelor's degree by the time of departure (late July). This means anyone with a bachelor's already, or anyone in their final year of college is generally eligible to apply. Hope that helps!

As the JET Program is operated by the Embassies and Consulates in each country, you would need to contact the Japanese Embassy in Budapest for confirmation. No, you cannot choose which grade level you teach. You can request a grade level, but you will be placed based on which grade level the interviewers and Japanese government officials reviewing your application think that you are most suited for and based on what positions are available.
