Have you ever felt unsafe in Columbia?

I was there for two years and I never felt unsafe. You just have to travel smart and you'll be fine!

I can tell you that we have lots of solo travelers on this program and have never had any serious incidents. Petty crime is common, and people do often get pickpocketed, but nothing more serious has occurred. Our placements are in the half of the country that is more developed and politically stable. We would never place a teacher in a city where we wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling and I have traveled in Colombia three times by myself.
