The InterExchange Au Pair Netherlands program is only open to U.S. citizens. There is a South African agency called House o Orange that also operates in the Netherlands. Maybe worth a try!

Hi there! Males can apply to become au pairs as well! We especially have a lot of success placing male applicants in Australia, France, New Zealand and Spain.

To become an au pair in the Netherlands you will need to travel with a non-Dutch passport. If you have a U.S. passport (and just happen to have a passport of another EU country as well), then you're welcome to apply through InterExchange.

Working for a few months is definitely possible, but not on the Au Pair Netherlands program, since families there tend to ask for a 10-12 month commitment. Check out the listing for Au Pair Spain, and some of the Teach and Work & Travel programs through InterExchange. If you have any other questions you can contact us as workabroad@interexchange.org
