fashion week internship in london winter 2022

I had a really fun time during the December experience. Raquel my internship mentor was great at explaining the different daily tasks, setting my agenda, and showing my how the company really worked. I enjoyed my time during the program and felt like it really helped me understand fashion PR more. I know that it's a cliche to say it but London is a truly great city, full of history, and culture and with so much to explore. Grab it with both hands and enjoy the ride, and you will not be disappointed.

Pros
  • Hands-on experience is great.
  • Being able to learn from real professionals
  • Meeting some great people
Cons
  • Living in the city is expensive
  • It gets really cold at night
  • taxis are really expensive

Intern life in London.

Had an amazing 12 weeks while interning in London through fashion Week internships. They made the process easy and quick, and were helpful from the initial interview through to the very end of the internship, and helping me get my references. The social events we were able to join were awesome and I got to meet lot of other new interns and students doing the internship program at other brands, and at the same time learn a lot more about the city. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with an interest in pursuing a career in fashion, but also anyone who wants to gain experience in their field of study (business and marketing major) A really fun experience.

Pros
  • experience a new city
  • meet great people
  • get course credits
Cons
  • time your visit to make sure the weather is good
  • book housing in advance and avoid price hikes
  • travel costs can be expensive

My best summer yet!

I am super thankful that I was able to experience the Fashion Week Internships London internship program this summer and I would highly recommend it to anyone! The FWI staff were amazing, and did their best to get things organised and make sure I felt fully prepared when I arrived. There aren't any set social activities planned, but Cathy provided me with all the support and information that I needed to make my experience in London memorable! Before travelling I was really nervous because this was my first internship abroad but the FWI team did a great job finding me an internship quickly. The living situation was fine and the location was amazing, close to the West End, one of the main shopping and going out areas in London! Overall, I had an amazing summer and I am so glad for all the friends and work colleagues I made along the way!

Pros
  • you get to learn about fashion by actually working in it
  • visiting London is a great experience
  • my fees were really low when compared to other companies
Cons
  • tickets for things like the theatre and attractions were expensive
  • the subway closes early
  • my 6 weeks went by so quickly

Scam!! They took my money and never replied!

DO NOT CHOOSE THEM! In the first couple of months, communication was steady from Christian, Sophie and Sarah. However, after I paid they stopped replying and I never got my placement and I have yet to receive my deposit back. They said Feb 2022 start and provided me info of the company a week before the start date without any support. They changed my start date to July 2022 and I have not heard back from this company since then. They have clearly violated their own terms and have not been replying to me. this company owes me $1100 and they have not replied to me in months now!!!

Cons
  • Communication
  • Scam
  • Took the money

Summer Vibes

A heatwave and lots of excitement! That is the best way to describe my Summer in sweltering London. What a great experience. A unique internship, a crazy city bigger that I imagined, and lots of lovely people.
I feel like I learned so much about fashion, myself and London!
From the moment we landed to leaving, I can honestly say that London is full of surprises. No one expected the city to be so busy and so hot that we could sunbathe, or take a weekend trip to the Brighton beach, but that is what we did!
Such a great fashion scene, from luxury and high-end to independents and up-and-coming designers. Meeting so many new professionals, really opened my eyes to the opportunities.

Pros
  • beautiful city with lots of history
  • great social life
  • brilliant internship
Cons
  • busy subways and buses during rush hours
  • food can be expensive

!!!SCAMMMERS!!!

I wish I knew it before. They stole your money promising a nice internship: you pay the full price and they don't even answer a single email. They suck and I'll sue them.
At first, they will be in contact with you to make you waste time and trust them, after that, they completely ghost you. I'm so disappointed by this platform that is hosting these scammers. I lost 2000Euro and a lot of time. I even signed a contract that promises a refund if they can't provide an internship, but so far, I haven't seen a penny.

STOLE OUR MONEY!!!

DO NOT work with this company. They are a fraud!!! My daughter applied and got accepted beginning
of February 2022 where we paid our deposit of $500 USD. Things were slow going but were reassured
they had placements lined up for her. She had 1 call with her program manager, Christian, and that was
it. Her placement was to be for June 6th 2022. We paid the second and final deposit in April. We
received a refund of our 2nd deposit as we were advised they switched their payment method, and now
we had to do a wire transfer. We sent the first wire transfer end of April. Received a call from our bank
that the wire information was incorrect. Went back to Fashion Week internships, and they provided us
with more information. The wire was returned again. We had to go back to the bank to send another
wire, again another $50 in wire fees. Sent the second wire, and guess what? It came back again as
incomplete or missing info. Contacted Fashion Week again, and more information was provided for the
transfer. Got a call again from the bank, wire still missing or incomplete info. Went back to Fashion week
AGAIN, and different info provided again. Went back to the bank again, and they said something doesn’t
look right. The account holder address did not match. Fashion Week gave the correct address. FINALLY
the transfer went through. Fashion Week blamed us for providing the bank the incomplete or incorrect
info when all along we were putting what Fashion Week provided. We received an email from Sara at
Fashion Week saying the money was received and they would be in touch for a call and were reassured
they had a placement for my daughter. As of June 2, we have not heard one word from Fashion Week
Internships where they said my daughter would not be able to start June 6, the earliest date was now
June 13. I have sent 4 emails and called numerous times where the phone just rings and rings, no one
answers and no voice mail. To be out $1,000 USD is one thing, but for my daughter to have booked and
paid for her trip to Paris specifically for this internship and Fashion Week fail to provide a placement or
refund us our money is just plain old ridiculous and unprofessional. For all you people who had a good
experience with Fashion Week Internships, bravo to you. Unfortunately my daughter was not one of
them. We are writing this to let all of you who are possibly applying for an internship with them, be
wary. As I have seen other bad reviews with the same complaint: money paid and no internship, no
response. We will be seeking legal action as this is not a way to run a company for young adults seeking
internships. Lots of broken promises and guarantees that are all false.

Cons
  • STOLE OUR MONEY
  • RESPONSE TIME IS INSANELY SLOW
  • THE PHONE JUST RINGS OFF THE HOOK

Fun city, great internship.

I was very nervous to go abroad due to covid and the pandemic. I was worried we wouldn't be able to enjoy the experience fully, or really get to know the city. I couldn't have been more wrong. During my eight weeks here, I was not only able to work at a really unique and fun internship, but I also got to see so much of London, and the UK! Being able to access my local coordinator made all the difference as she was able to give us tips on things to do, and places to visit, and made sure that we always had other interns to meet and lean on.

Overall a solid 10/10 program that is well worth the money. I would do this program again if I could.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I'm sure this is a common response, but staying longer would have been the only thing I would change. My time has gone by so quickly and with just 4 days left, I do think that staying longer would have enabled me to travel, do and see so much more.

fashion week 2022

I was fortunate to intern just as London dropped its covid restrictions and experienced multiple roles during my internship, first working as a dresser, backstage, and then in the marketing teams, post show. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and city. housing is in a shared room with to other girls, and travel is cheap with an oystercard, or walking. History and inspo are everywhere in the way people dress, the buildings and the way the everything just fits together. London isn't as expensive as people say but is much more fun!! Loved it.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
working backstage is a really exciting but adrenaline filled experience, as the pace is frenetic and everything has to be perfect and to the second. so much fun.

Fashion week post-covid in London

I completed a 2-week internship interning during LFW A/W 22. While it was shorter than I would have liked due to it being held mid-term, it was amazing. I enjoyed all the buzz and backstage energy of the shows and my mentor was extremely knowledgeable, and happy to share as much as she could, introducing me to people, getting me involved in loads of tasks, and generally taking me under her wing. I would highly recommend this program to anybody looking for a fashion intern opportunity in London..

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
if I could change one thing, it would be the possibility of staying longer.
