This was a great experience and I really improved my Spanish. I honestly can't say enough good things about my week here. I came in as an intermediate speaker, which is a tricky level to teach since you're past the basics but still make mistakes constantly and can feel stuck. My teacher figured that out fast and built the lessons around what I actually needed instead of running through a generic curriculum.

What really stood out was the patience. Learning a language as an adult is humbling. You mix up tenses, you blank on words you know you've learned before. My teacher never made me feel rushed or embarrassed about any of it. Corrections came gently and in a way that actually helped things stick, so I found myself willing to just speak instead of overthinking every sentence.

The location is also a huge bonus. Casco Viejo is such a gorgeous part of Panama City, with colonial architecture and narrow streets full of life. Walking to lessons through that area became part of the experience. Learning a language surrounded by the culture it comes from just hits different than studying in a plain classroom.

If you're thinking about Spanish lessons in Panama. I can't recommend this enough. Even one week made a real difference.

My week at Casco Antiguo Spanish School was outstanding. The class was excellent. Our teacher, Samuel, used terrific techniques to keep us talking and that’s what I was there for — to improve my conversation.

We also took 2 fascinating field trips that broadened my understanding of the history of Panama and the Canal, as well as the various cultures that blend together to influence the country today.

I’ve been to four Spanish schools in Costa Rica, Spain and Mexico and this one is top-notch. We only had 2 students in my class so we each got lots of personal attention.

We had the most amazing week here learning Spanish as a family. My husband and I were taught by Lina, and our ten year old twins by Sandra. This school went above and beyond for us. The school offers a free weekly sunset bike ride and several other free activities. We could walk to this school from our Airbnb. Close to our Airbnb and the school were tons of coffee shops, restaurants, and boutique stores. Our twins learned Spanish rapidly in just one week, and keep saying they want to go back. This will be one of our favorites memories on our quest to learn Spanish!

I had a wonderful experience refreshing and improving my Spanish at Casco Antiguo Spanish School! It was a well planned course, although I was only there one week, and my teacher was amazing. We spent time in the classroom (just one other student and our teacher) and also walked around Casco Viejo using our Spanish skills. Very personalized and adjusted to fit my needs. My husband and sister also attended, and their teachers were fantastic as well. I would highly recommend this school, and hope to return soon.

The school’s director Eddalia was very accommodating related to changing students’ placements. Since I ended up being the only student in the class, I was fortunate to be with Lina for 3 hours a day. We visited the local square and small museums nearby, and spoke in Spanish as we went. The syllabus covered a broad range of topics, only some of which could be covered in one week. I was able to choose the items I wanted to concentrate on. I felt much more proficient conversing with local people after the course. I highly recommend the school. We stayed at Hotel San Felipe, a short walk from the school.

First and foremost, Hector is an excellent teacher. I very much enjoyed my week in class. We had a lot of fun and I learned so much. I liked the small class size and I felt that Soren was the perfect classmate for me. We were at about the same level and it was nice to have another student to learn from. I felt instantly comfortable in the school as soon as I met Ishmael and he helped us get enrolled. Hector and Gabriela were both welcoming and I felt comfortable with them and ready to learn right away. I was learning at my level and Hector personalized the lessons as we went along. We were able to spend additional time with ser/estar when requested and I think that made all the difference for me. All the lessons included, vocabulary, grammar, and hands on practice. Every day, we were reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I enjoyed the breaks, which were a good time to informally practice Spanish with other teachers and students. The homework was reasonable and fun. My Spanish skills have improved greatly in just one week. I would highly recommend this school!

I had been using DuoLingo for 250 days before I moved to Panama and enrolled for 4 weeks of class. The school was super flexible in helping me craft a schedule that suited. The instructors are personable, delightful, and very creative. You are not only in the classroom, you are out on the streets visiting places, talking with people, and learning at a fast clip.

Having in-person classes with either a private instructor or with a group of students really improved my overall comprehension, my comfort in speaking, and erased my fear of sounding foolish (it happens;)). I feel I improved 100-fold in the 4 weeks over just Duo Lingo alone. I learned a lot about Panama too, and feel so much more comfortable in my new home.

I spent 2 weeks learning Spanish in Casca Viejo, staying at an apartment in the area. The Casco Antigua school is small and incredibly friendly , with very small classes. Our teacher Sandra was so enthusiastic and encouraging. We practiced our Spanish on school staff and other local people. After school there is a free activity programme 4 nights a week. I went to the salsa class which was brilliant .
Would 100 percent recommend you attend this school if you want to improve your Spanish and you have a bit of time, they can create a flexible programme just for you

If you’re looking for a place to study Spanish in Panama, Casco Antiguo Spanish School is the place to learn! I spent four weeks there and had a great time; the whole staff at the school is wonderful, kind, and accommodating. The lessons were a mixture of in-class learning as well as learning throughout Casco Viejo (i.e. visiting museums, historical places, a local market, and interacting with locals). I came to Casco Antiguo as a beginner, and left with the necessary tools to continue using/learning Spanish well!

i had nothing but a positive experience at casco antiguo spanish school, i deeply appreciated how immersive the lessons were and so diverse in form—not just sitting in a classroom all day, but doing activities, going to museums, getting to see the beauty of the surrounding area all while learning spanish at the same time. thanks especially to my wonderful teacher kathia who was amazingly patient and sweet with us all and to david for being such a great facilitator and tour guide. muchas gracias, los amo a todos:)
