A DTS (aka Discipleship Training School) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) changed my life. Being able to learn so much more about my Heavenly Father, and grow closer with Him was amazing. I absolutely loved living in community for the 5 months of the school! It taught me the importance of community, and I learned how to love people better. I am forever grateful for this experience, and say it is 100% worth it. Setting aside just 5 months of your time to focus and go after Jesus with people who are just as excited as you will be the best experience! The 3 months of lectures was SO impactful, and getting to apply everything I had learned on outreach (aka the 2 month mission trip) was even better!! It’s so worth it!!! I learned so much of who God created me to be, and more of who He is. I thought I was ready to go right into the mission trip, but there was so much I needed to do in order to be able to truly go out and share the love of Christ and love how Jesus loves. Outreach changed my life and my perspective on so much. If you want a life altering experience, the I would recommend a Discipleship Training School with YWAM Redding. It will impact your life in ways you never imagined!!!!

Youth With A Mission Redding's Discipleship Training School (DTS) was such an amazing opportunity for growth and development! As a Senior just finishing my final year of high school and unsure of what I wanted to go to college for, I decided to take a year away from school to learn more about God and travel the world. However, what I got was so much more than I expected! I grew so much in my relationship with God, gained such a value for missions, and got to share my faith with so many people along the way! I would highly recommend Youth With A Mission Redding's Discipleship Training School, it's such a unique experience that will shift your perspective of missions as a whole and change the way you go about living the rest of your life with God!

I had the best experience at YWAM Redding! The seasons I’ve spent with Youth With A Mission have been nothing short of life changing. I was stretched and grown in ways I never imagined. My Discipleship Training School was exactly what I needed at that time in my life! Through the teaching and opportunities my relationship with God reached a new level of intimacy, and I learned how to share His truth with others.

The staff is amazing! They dedicate time and love to the students to assure they’re having a positively impactful experience. Overall YWAM Redding is an amazing atmosphere and maintains a vision for spreading the gospel.

My outreach was incredible. My leaders were outstanding! I was able to step out of my comfort zone and into new and exciting opportunities! I also met some of the best people and made new friends overseas.

I am so thankful for the way God has transformed my life through YWAM Redding!

YWAM Redding is an amazing base, full of people who are whole-heartedly in love with Jesus, and who radically love the lost! The community is so encouraging and loving. The worship and prayer times are filled with the Holy Spirit and power. Love the staff, and the schools, as well as the outreaches. I have been pushed out of my comfort zone in such a good way, and Jesus has grown me so much through the schools here! I also love where the base is located in Redding. It's beautiful scenery with the mountains, and you can walk downtown if you want! I made f iendships I will keep for the rest of my life! They also have a coffee shop, with amazing coffee and for low prices! This is a great experience for anyone looking for adventure!! Highly recommend!!

I completed my Discipleship Training School through this base, and it changed my life! Youth With A Mission in Redding, CA is a family friendly community and gives so much opportunity for growth and outreach. I was able to go overseas and reach out to the refugees in crisis in Athens with my children and our team. As a group of over 300 people, we went out in teams to bring hope to the hopeless and bring healing into their trauma they experienced in their lives! We have continued our relationship with this amazing community for over 4 years! It is located in the beautiful mountain valley of Shasta County and has wonderful recreational outlets for team building. Some of the experiences we have had here include, time spent up at Whiskeytown Lake for swimming and picnics. We have hiked the beautiful mountains and visited the local waterfalls during our schools to build team relationships. The community is hands down the kindest, most generous and compassionate people I have known. Another aspect of this base is the focus of compassion horsemanship and working with young people to bring hope into lives. The weekly encouragement to get out of your comfort zone and reach out into the lives of those in front of you is highly valued as is personal growth. I LOVE YOUTH WITH A MISSION, REDDING!!!!!

Other than choosing to follow Jesus, this was the second best decision i have ever made in my life!!! I learned how to have a personal and more intimate relationship with Jesus. To hear his voice and to learn what it looks like to run with the Lord long term. They also have their own coffee shop with realllly good coffee!

So much identity was poured into me. This base has amazing worship and amazing schools. The presence is so thick!!!!

And the location is great! It lies in the heart of downtown Redding, with prime coffee shops and just up the road a bit, amazing lakes and hikes!

The community is so loving and encouraging and I have truly made lifelong friends! This experience has shifted the course of my life!

This program and staff are so servent hearted and compassionate. The go the extra mile in encouraging and loving those around you as they bring in amazing speakers with teachings the grow and stretch your mind. The program offers many different places to go with outreach’s and local outreach’s as you travel and get to share what you have learned with others. I have grown in my relationship with God as I grew and now can walk in my idneity of who he created me to be. Redding is a beauitfuil environment with beauitfuil sites and an amazing Christian community around unlike anything I’ve ever seen also offers so many amazing churchs including Bethel Church to visit and get involved with. I came for a school but encountered so many amazing people who became a family. I also met my wife here ;) ....... so there’s that.

I HIGHLY recommend this program. I am so thankful that I came to Youth With A Mission Redding for a Discipleship Training School. It was truly life changing. The people and community around you is so amazing that you make extremely close friendships very quickly. The leaders and staff are so supportive and are constantly pouring into you. I learned so much more about God and grew in my relationship with him, and then got to spend two months in another country doing mission work. Also Redding is such a beautiful city with so many adventures to go on. The mountains are awesome with a beautiful lake and hiking trails. In your free time, you can go explore the beautiful Northern California. You’ll have the same opportunities in the countries you go to for the second half of the program. If you’re thinking about coming, apply! You won’t regret it. It will change your life.

I loved my time in YWAM DTS. It was the perfect outlet to explore the things on my heart after high school. I learned so many new things about God and myself through this vibrant community. The “lecture phase” of the school gave such a good foundation for life, God, and missions. Doing the with other people from around the world gifted me with life-long quality friendships! The trip overseas was life-changing and opened my eyes to what’s going on in the world. Outreach was my favorite part! I grew in confidence from stepping outside of my comfort zone and got so much insight for the rest of my life! I loved my time with YWAM and would recommend it to anyone who isn’t sure what to do after high school. Do a DTS! You won’t regret it!

YWAM Redding's Discipleship Training School was such a transformational experience! I went right after I graduated High School as a gap year program and I was not disappointed. I was so stoked to develop deep friendships during my lecture phase. I learned and stepped into freedom with myself and with the Lord. Some of the topics I learned about where Character and Nature of God, Holy Spirit, Relationships, Worship and Evangelism. During outreach phase I had the opportunity to go to Athens to work with the refugee! I went with a small team and two leaders. We had an amazing schedule and honestly had such a crazy time. We spent time doing street ministry, going into and serving the refugees in the area and volunteering in church programs. At the end, I really didn't want to leave. YWAM Redding became family!
