I really love it here! I have already been here three weeks and have four more weeks left. I don't want to go home in December, so if I could, I would stay longer, which I sadly can't. The staff here are amazing, couldn't been better. Everybody around here is always happy and make you smile. The food is really amazing and I love that we have cooking class a few times in a week, so when you go home you can try to cook real Indian food. If you want some special dish, Ghasi the cook, always try to do make it the same day or the day after. The rooms here is clean and there is nothing to complain about. The view from Idex is really amazing, you can see the mountains through the windows from your room. My morning project is MCS, at the school I have one student who I teach for seven weeks. When I started at MCS, the teachers over there gave me some goals for my student that I will work for him to reach. When I started there it was difficult to teach my student, but after a few days there I found a way that is working for him. After three weeks at MCS I can see some results and when I leave, I hope that we have reach all the goals. Bridge class is my afternoon project, witch I love, it is the highlight of my day. The only thing I wish is to have bridge class five times in a week instead of four. The joy feel when you are there, I can't put into words. The kids really want to learn more and you can see the joy in there eyes when it's playtime. I can't find anything to complain about, I love this place, the people here and the projects. Everything here in Himachal is awesome, I'm truly gonna miss this time of my life when I go back home.

What would you improve about this program?
It's hard to find anything to complain about because everything around Idex works really great. The only thing I can say is that I want to have bridge class five times a week instead of four.

It is fantastic here at Himachal in IDEX i would recommend any person who wanted to do volunteering to come here. The staff here are amazing and so friendly it feels more like being part of a big family. The manager here has answered all my questions within ample time and with great results. The food is amazing and the rooms here a very comfortable and brilliant to sleep in. The volunteering here is so much fun and its a joy to work with all the children. In the morning i go to MCS which is a school for mentally challenged students. It can be very hard here to grasp the children's attention and get them completely focused during some activities that we plan. However it is incredible to see the progress they make and gives me much joy to see them happy and achieving. In the afternoon i have been teaching computing to girls under the age of 15. This again is tough but its a joy to work with them as well as they listen well and always enjoy doing there work and achieving. My main highlight would have to be everything here i can not describe the joy i get from being here with words its an amazing experience.

What would you improve about this program?
I can not actually think of a single thing. Every part of the experience is as good as i could be. All the resources needed are available for you and all questions an queries are always answered as i mentioned before.

Education Project in Jaipur, India

The accommodations in Jaipur, India were very nice, with rooms with 2 to 3 beds and a bathroom for each room. Very clean and the staff who lived in the house were very friendly. I felt safe at all times during my stay. I really enjoyed living in a house with 15-25 people of all different backgrounds. Although I loved working with the people who attended the classes, volunteering in the children's class and women empowerment class was frustrating at times, as there was little organization or communication among the IDEX staff. I received almost no orientation, preparation, or even basic expectations for how and what to teach in the class. In general, the IDEX program is very unorganized and lacks communication.
