I participated in the Lankey program to learn arabic last summer. I study education and I look forward to teaching foreign languages in the future. It is important for me as an education student to learn the most spoken languages in the world. Even though I was a complete beginner, I feel more comfortable with my arabic skills since my participation in the Lankey language immersion program especially that I signed up for the 8 weeks option. The Lankey program is shaped in a way that ensures participant’s intensive immersion in the Moroccan culture throughout the trips and activities. I had the chance to practice the language in and out of class, with the Lankey representatives, my host family and other participants. I met many american participants and other english speaking participants so I have some new friends. I am very happy about my experience and I would definitely go back to enhance my skills in the arabic language and visit more places in Morocco.

Traveling is my passion and Morocco was one of my dream destinations. Thanks to the Lankey team, I realized my dream trip last summer and I visited the gorgeous moroccan cities like Chefchaouen the blue pearl city and Marrakech the red city, all while learning French. My skills really improved since I had the chance to not only learn the language but also practice it everyday with the participants, my host family and the Lankey team.
The Lankey team customized a schedule for me, based on the activities I wanted to do. I enjoyed riding a horse while watching the sunset after a great afternoon at the beach and so many more activities. I went to a cooking class where I learned how to bake Moroccan homemade bread and it tasted so good. I also had so much fun at the bellydance class. Moroccan hammam or spa is such a lifetime experience, it was so relaxing especially the massage part. These are some of the activities I wanted to experience but the Lankey team has always new ideas and can surprise you during your trip. Special thanks to the Lankey staff who is always available, kind and helpful.

Although I was looking forward to studying in Morocco, I didn't know how much I would love my time abroad. From the first day, Lankey staff members on site were helpful and accommodating. After we all arrived, they took us to get SIM cards and gave a tour of the area around the residency. After, a staff member invited me into her office to check in with me and make sure I was doing okay, as well as offered any support I needed. Furthermore, academics and professors were great. I did Lankey French language program, and I am so happy with my improvement. through classes, being in Morocco, speaking French with my host family, and making local friends with whom I also spoke French, my understanding and ability in the language significantly increased. I recommend this program to anyone who wants to improve their language abilities, go out of their comfort zone while still feeling supported, and explore incredible cities!

I don't even know how to properly express how much I loved my time abroad with Lankey, but I will do my best.

They are extremely organized and very friendly. There is always someone there to help you with anything including directions and advice. You get picked up from the airport and you go into Rabat with all your new friends. This was really great for me because this trip was my first time traveling ever.

The day after you go on a tour of where you'll be living and you even go on an excursion! They immerse you immediately and it's honestly the best way to get comfortable in a new country.

For the classes, I learned how to read and write within three weeks. The teachers were so active and made me excited to learn even more.

The trips were really Amazing. I had been in 5 cities and each one brought something unique about Morocco. The colors, the streets, the people I still remember all of these.

I made the best memories and BEST friends while in this program. I'd give anything to be able to do it again. I highly recommend Lankey to anybody wanting to go abroad!

My host family arrangement, as well as the on-site program administrators for Lankey, definitely helped me to feel more integrated with the local culture. my host family was very welcoming and accommodating and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. the on-site administrators were always there for me too. I really enjoyed every minute of my stay from traveling all over Morocco, drinking mint tea, to learning French. With the help of my French Professor, I was able to familiarize myself with the French Language even my Italian Friends have noticed that too. I am really grateful for this experience. I can't even believe I've done all these amazing experiences in 4 weeks. I really recommend it!

I have recommended this program to other teens who are looking to go a little outside their comfort zone and improve their French. With Lankey I got the chance to explore Moroccan culture through the fun trips and living with a host family. the fact that I had classes regularly and speaking continuously with my host family helped to improve my French more, and I am able to interact and speak French clearly thanks to Lankey and its friendly staff who are willing to help in any way that they can.
I cannot wait to come back!
