Broadreach Adventures are Great!

I did my first adventure this summer, and I have no regrets. The three week/21 day scuba rescue diver course was challenging and fun. Every kid was kind and welcoming to me, even though my plane got in late due to the crowdstrike fiasco. The staff were incredible! Hats off to Jenny, Ellis, and Nathan, who were all kind, funny, and very knowledgeable. Jenny carried her knowledge of sailing with her everywhere, and got me interested too. Sailing the catamaran is super fun! Ellis takes a serious and safe approach to diving, making the whole process easy and very safe. Each dive was fun, and the learning and training necessary, while demanding was rewarding. Nathan was all around a great person, helping with injuries, and always being positive and funny. I enjoyed this camp, and if you are serious about diving, you will too!

What was your funniest moment?
My favorite/funniest moment was sitting around the table after dinner, doing gums and glows. Everything, while supposed to be calming, allowed us to bond as we poked fun at the cooking of our peers, and funny things that had happened, like pushing each other into the water off of the boat, which happened a lot!

Best Summer Ever

Broadreach was the experience of a lifetime. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable exposure to the beauty of the underwater world and taught me about diving. The program was well-organized, with a perfect balance of diving time and spending time with a wonderful group of people. Each dive was completely different, and I found myself falling more in love with the ocean every time. Although the sailing and scuba diving were beyond amazing, the lifelong friends I made along the way were the most important part.

What was your funniest moment?
The funniest moment from the trip was cleaning dishes in the ocean every night. After dinner, we would stare at the beautiful ocean views while scrubbing the dishes and playing music. It was such a good way to wrap up the day by singing Justin Bieber or having a chill night with Zach Bryan on in the back. The reason scrubbing the dishes was such a funny experience is because someone would without fail drop a dish in the ocean. Then they would have to jump into the ocean fully dressed for bed in their pajamas.

  • Scuba Diving

Broadreach!!

I have been on 3 Broadreach trips now, and all of them have been incredible. There are so many incredible counselors who help with the trips and really do make it fun. I have done both the land-based trips and live aboard trips and in both cases, the team makes it really easy to get accustomed to the different places. It may seem scary, especially as a first-time trip, but I promise you will make lifelong friends on the trip and more than that, have incredible once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Every Broadreach trip has inspired me to learn to see the world with even more wonder and has given me a renewed respect for our planet.

Pros
  • More global awareness
  • Incredible friends who have shared interests
  • All programs are incredibly inclusive
