About Program
The Bachelor degree in Classics and Archaeology at The American University of Rome has been designed to provide participants with the very best opportunities that the Eternal City can offer. Expertly led by a faculty of professional scholars and field archaeologists, students on this program have the unique opportunity to combine their studies in the classroom with real archaeological experience in the city itself. Our students regularly participate in ongoing excavations and heritage projects. In recent years students have dug within the walls of the Colosseum, excavated in the Roman Forum and taken part in novel research using ground-penetrating radar.
If you have a passion for the past, where better to study than at the heart of history?
AUR's programs are truly interdisciplinary so studying archaeology here gives you the opportunity to combine your passion with compatible skills such as film, marketing, or tourism.
