About Program
This 12-day course consists of 8 modules. Our archaeologists and anthropologist will guide you through this unique hands-on experience using genuine artefacts from Peru's pre-Columbian, Colonial, & Republican eras. You will be instructed on the identification and classification of ancient artefacts and you will learn how to place items into context.
You will work hands-on with genuine ceramic, lithic, wood, bone, & textile objects and you will be guided step by step through the cleaning and registration process by our qualified, local professionals. No previous experience is required.
The course and accommodation are in the Centro Cultural Aq'amama, which is based in Cusco city centre.
In addition to the 8 module course, participants will travel to Machu Picchu by train over a weekend and there are extra outdoor activities included in the 12-day schedule. We have more than 15 years of experience working in the field of archaeology with visitors to Cusco.
