Museums & Art Collections Course in Spain

This course is designed to introduce students to some of the great art collections of Spain but also to the most avant garde and unique museums of the country.

Students will learn about the origin and development of some of the most famous art collections (both public and private) in Madrid, Málaga and Barcelona. They will also learn about some of the most recent and exceptional centers where the building and the collection may be equally important; this is the case of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao or the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.

Students will have the opportunity to visit different sites, museums and galleries, while conducting meetings and interviews with museum administration personal, and curators. All through 2019 we will pay special attention to the history and the collections held in El Prado Museum as a celebration of its 200 years of history.
