With over two decades of experience in higher education and academic leadership, Yenisey Cabrera has dedicated her career to fostering student success and institutional growth. Her journey began in 2001 after earning a Bachelor’s in Education from Barry University, where her impact was immediate; in her first year of teaching, her students’ performance on the FCAT was instrumental in raising the school's overall grade.

Transitioning into higher education, she served as an Admissions Representative at Florida Career College before being promoted to Director of Education and Student Affairs. In this leadership role, she managed faculty recruitment, mentoring, and student retention strategies. Her expertise eventually led her to the University of Miami, where she spent nearly a decade as a Senior Academic Advisor. While there, she became a trusted resource for nursing, health science, and undecided students alike. A passionate advocate for the profession, she founded the university’s first campus-wide academic advising organization—an initiative that earned the support of the University Provost.

An accomplished writer, she authored the influential article, "How to Choose a Major That is Right for You," published in Transition Magazine. Since 2017, she has served at Miami Regional University, where she was recruited to architect and manage the university’s first dedicated Academic Advising Office.
