About Program
The English Teaching Volunteer is held at Universidad Mayor de San Andres (aka UMSA)in La Paz, Bolivia.
UMSA wants to internationalize itself, however, there are not enough English teachers.
So, so many students want to study abroad but because of their financial situations, they cannot afford it.
The only way for them to make their dream happen is to win a scholarship.
However, the lack of English teachers prevents them from achieving that goal.
There is only 1 English teacher in the Department of Technology where we mostly work, so we would like to have many English Teaching Volunteers.
Even if they stay here only for a few weeks, it would be a great influence on students and volunteers can motivate students a lot.
This is a need-based program, so your volunteer experience will directly contribute to local people.
