About Program
All placements are to teach English as a Foreign Language in educational institutions. The educational institutions range from primary, middle and vocational schools, to colleges and universities. Volunteers will work in collaboration with Chinese English teachers to teach English conversation classes in order to build on and develop the students’ vocabulary without teaching formal English grammar.
Increasingly, placements are offering volunteers the opportunity for more formal discussions with their Foreign Languages staff about customs and culture in Canada or the US.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to plan their own lessons and become integrated into the local community, as they may be the Western residents in the city.

Location

China's landscape is vast and diverse, ranging from the Gobi and Taklamakan Deserts in the arid north to subtropical forests in the wetter south. China has over 34,687 species of animals and vascular plants, making it the third-most biodiverse country in the world, after Brazil and Colombia.
