About Program

Meaningful immersion experiences. This is not some feel good experience designed to look good on your resume, but rather is designed to impact your resume and take it in directions you never thought possible. Each of the volunteer projects allow you to give back to the community, but they also stimulate passions never before imagined. Caring for animals, teaching English, playing with orphans, or patrolling for solidarity with sea turtles may not be your thing, but the reflective nature of these programs will leave you touched.

Arribada

Hello,
Come with me on a journey of imagination.
Imagine you're walking on a beach, the sand beneath your feet is black and uneven. It's night but there is no moon or stars. All you have is a weak red light. The waves are crashing on the black shore. It's a mine field. The mines range from a few centimeters to about a meter large. You can't touch the mine, or walk too closely in front of them, and all the mine are moving! That's what it's like during the mass turtle nesting! Now imagine all that in a tropical storm and that was my first night of the Arribada!
The image of all those turtles covering the beach is one i will never forget. The rain would hit the turtles and the bio-luminescent algae on their backs would glow bright blue. So Cool.
