$300 / week with possible discounted prices for groups or month-long stays. This price also includes the electricity and water at our lovely volunteer house which has bedding, towels, a full-stocked appliances kitchen with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. We also can provide transportation once a week to the grocery store.

About Program

As a volunteer you will come in close contact with over 70 parrots of different species! While the number of parrots at the rescue is increasing, volunteer numbers are not keeping up. Your contribution is enormous as the rescue needs your help feeding the birds, raking and washing aviaries, cutting lots of veggies, cooking, making toys, planting trees, trail maintenance and more! Some tasks may not be easy and can be physically demanding. But we do assign tasks that are comfortable and enjoyable for each volunteer. If you enjoy working with animals and are not afraid to get your hands dirty in the outdoors, then be part of an exciting experience. Volunteer contributions go towards animal care & husbandry, the day to day running of the shelter and the upgrading of the facilities. Located in Sabalito, Coto Brus, Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Merci au Parrot Rescue Center, ainsi qu'aux filles du centre pour cette merveilleuse expérience très enrichissante qui m’a permis de découvrir une belle partie du Costa Rica. Je rêvais de pouvoir être au contact des animaux, de m’en occuper et d’en apprendre plus sur eux. Il n’y a pas mieux que de se réveiller au milieu de la nature et aller cueillir des fruits pour les perroquets. J’ai pu faire, et voir beaucoup de choses. Tout était absolument parfait. Merci à Keylin et Valentina, je recommande sans hésiter si vous souhaitez une expérience unique au CR.

Thank you to the Parrot Rescue Center, as well as the girls at the center for this wonderful, very enriching experience which allowed me to discover a beautiful part of Costa Rica. I dreamed of being able to be in contact with animals, take care of them, and learn more about them. There's nothing better than waking up in the middle of nature and going to pick fruit for the parrots. I was able to do and see a lot of things. Everything was absolutely perfect. Thanks to Keylin and Valentina, I recommend without hesitation if you want a unique experience at CR.

A wonderful place and experience

I spent a week with my family at the Parrot Rescue Center during our trip to Costa Rica and can only recommend it. Our volunteering was an enriching and very fulfilling experience. You help the parrots, but you actually get so much more in return. The Parrot Rescue Center is a family business that is run with a lot of passion and love for the parrots. We were warmly welcomed and given patient and friendly instructions. There were always plenty of breaks, which we were able to organize ourselves to a certain extent. But we actually wanted to work as much as possible to support and spend time with the birds. We learned a lot about the different parrot species on site and about nature. The Parrot Rescue Center is located in a pleasant environment with lots of nature and a small town nearby. There are sufficient shopping opportunities.
The kind people and their love for the birds make this Parrot Center a wonderful place in Costa Rica.
