About Program

For 40 years, WICE has been at the center of the Anglophone community in Paris. We offer language courses, and educational and cultural events in English.

WICE’s range of courses evolves with the needs and interests of our community. What was once an organization geared toward continuing education for women, now welcomes everyone for walking tours, museum visits, and classes in creative writing, visual arts, cooking, wine and more.

Volunteers contribute to all facets of managing WICE activities, including developing curricula for language and cultural programs, enrolling students, marketing and publicity, office administration and website management.

We select our volunteers based on individual recruitment to ensure that they have the right background for the tasks they will be asked to do, and a clear understanding of what the job involves.

Fun and Motivating

I'm working on the new Wice business plan and helping out with membership. It's like working at a start-up and is a lot of fun. You feel heard and can contribute your knowledge plus there are so many interesting people at Wice. They have a robust French/English language learning group as well as creative writing courses.
The new President is willing to hear any idea and how you want to contribute. They have oportunities in technology, marketing, social media, languages, etc.
They don't have all the answers and that is where you come in and can contribute. Plus, when you go to Paris, you get the opportunity to integrate with the locals versus just being a tourist.

Pros
  • Contributing expertise
  • Being part of a smart group of people
  • French/English language learning
Cons
  • Starting from scratch
  • Onboarding needed
