About Program
Health projects aim to increase access to basic healthcare for poor communities, decrease disease prevalence, and improve overall health by providing public health care and promoting health education in poor communities. In Ghana and Cameroon,one Doctor is entitled to 10,000 patients.
In this program, you will assist the local nurses and Doctors at a District or Regional Hospitals with any aspects of medical practices that you are hoping for. You will act as a health worker with the community nurses and doctors. Your duties of choice may include working in the consultation room, medicine dispensary, or operating theatre (operating room) helping with physical therapy, treatment of minor injuries, maternal assistance, and childcare. Other occasional tasks may be assisting midwives on home visits, verifying or recording patients' personal/medical information, etc. You will also help the team with outreach consultation trips in poor communities.
