About Program
Centro Educativo Pavarotti is a school for children aged 12-17 in the city of San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. The center now serves 216 children in the region. It is an initiative of Rigoberta Menchú Foundation founded by Rigoberta Menchú, Nobel Peace Prize in 1996. The Foundation is an institution recognized for his contributions to the defense of human rights especially of indigenous people that support educational programs, citizen participation, community development and the fight against impunity. The Center annually receives several groups of volunteers from different countries as the United States and Canada.
