About Program

The Bukit Lawang Trust Eco Farm Programme aims to spread knowledge about organic, sustainable, and eco-friendly farming throughout our community. Our small eco farm grows a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, providing a hands-on learning environment in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

Currently, we are teaching kids essential skills such as planting, harvesting, and plant care, while incorporating creative elements into our lessons. Although our programme is in its infancy, we are already making a positive impact, the kids we work with have really enjoyed the experience.

We seek volunteers to support our staff at the farm, assist in teaching farming lessons and to help develop the programme. Volunteers will also need to contribute to various other projects, including developing roof garden and support some ESL classes and other initiatives.

In the future, we aim to expand our efforts to work with adults and explore urban farming opportunities.

Program Impact

Support our staff working at our local eco farm, with the aim to spread awareness about sustainable farming amongst the community and to also ignite a desire within the kids we teach to learn about growing their own food. Many people within the. community have space to grow their own food, either on some land or through 'urban farming' and we want to empower people the knowledge and resources to achieve this. You will also get to work with amazing kids and provide them with an educational experience they would otherwise be unable to have.
