About Program
This is Local Ocean Trust's flagship program. Patrols are conducted by community members and staff to protect nesting females. The nightly patrols are conducted by our staff and you will have the opportunity to assist them with their duties. The times vary depending on the tide times but usually last around 4 hours.
We have nesting and hatching occurring almost all year round, however the busiest time usually occurs from April to October.
Since 1997 over 600 nests and 50,000 hatchlings have been protected through this program. Come and help us protect even more!
