About Program
H.E.L.P. Malawi seeks health professional volunteers to assist at our rural government health centre at Nandumbo. All year-round opportunities exist for Medical students, qualified Doctors, Midwives and Nurses s to join the HELP team and government staff for a minimum of a month. The programme is flexible and is catered to individual's experience, skills and qualifications and to the needs of the health centre. Those health professionals with specialist skills i.e. Dieticians, Ophthalmologists, Gynaecologists can join us for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Volunteers can expect to be at the clinic five days a week, usually from 07.30 - 16.30 or as otherwise specified by H.E.L.P. Experiences include:
• Out patients department (OPD)
• Maternity
• Under 5 clinic
• Sexual health screening
• Wound care
• HIV/ART treatment
• Family planning services
• Nutrition
• Youth Friendly Health services
• Outreach clinic
