About Program
Marine Action Research (MAR) offers a unique opportunity for aspiring scientists and conservationists to gain experience in scientific diving and data collection while contributing to critical research in Mozambique.
Zavora is a remote village located on the southern coast of Mozambique with little human development and anthropogenic impact. Therefore this area is still thriving with marine life and is a hot spot for large marine megafauna such as humpback whales and manta rays, as well as a hot spot for macrofauna such as nudibranchs and seahorses. Our diverse array of projects allows interns to receive theoretical and practical training in various research techniques. Our projects include: Manta rays, humpback whales, nudibranchs, artificial reef (wreck) colonization, seahorses, sea turtles and more!
Improve your research and diving skills while experiencing 'raw' Africa. Join us for the experience of a lifetime!
