Community and Youth Development Volunteering with PDCN in Nepal
About Program
PDCN works both on humanitarian and development context. PDCN trains local community leaders and teachers to deliver our programs in earthquake affected areas and rural villages in Nepal. Our programs incorporate a unique methodology that uses sports and play as a tool for learning in three development impact areas:
Basic Education and Child Development: PDCN sports and play programs foster the physical, cognitive and social development of children to teach important values and life skills.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: PDCN sports and play programs are used to educate and mobilize community around health and disease prevention priorities.
Community Development and Participation: In order to create change and have a sustainable impact, we work in partnership with other partner NGO’s to build community infrastructure through the engagement of locals and international volunteers.
