About Program
Ideal home is a women’s center where women suffering from domestic violence and abuse can stay. The center opened April 2009 and received 10 women and their children at that time. The women are supposed to stay for 18 month at Ideal Home.
During their stay, the women work on different skills, focusing on sewing (clothes) and making candles. Hopefully they will be able to start their own small business in the future.
As important as the working skills is the new environment they are experiencing. At Ideal Home they build up their self-confidence, their self-reliance and get new knowledge about their rights in the society. The home also supports their capacity building and flight with the domestic violence in forth coming days.
Nepal is slowly moving forward as a newly formed Democracy. As such its government and social services are minimal at best.
